1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They let the site remember information about your visit. We also use similar technologies (local storage, session storage, pixel tags, SDKs) that are covered by this Policy.
Cookies are either session cookies (deleted when you close the browser) or persistent cookies (remain until they expire or you delete them). They are also either first-party (set by feedrevo.com or app.feedrevo.com) or third-party (set by a service we use, such as Clerk).
2. Categories of cookies we use
2.1 Strictly necessary
These are required for the Service to function. They cannot be switched off in our systems. They are usually set only in response to actions you take such as signing in, setting privacy preferences, or filling forms. You can configure your browser to block them, but parts of the Service will not work. We do not require consent for strictly necessary cookies under the ePrivacy Directive.
2.2 Analytics
Help us understand how visitors use the Service so we can improve it. We use Plausible Analytics, which is cookieless by design and uses no persistent identifiers, so it does not trigger consent requirements under the ePrivacy Directive or GDPR. If we ever introduce a non-cookieless analytics tool, it will be gated behind explicit consent in the EU/UK and offered through the cookie banner.
2.3 Product analytics (signed-in dashboard only)
We may use PostHog inside the signed-in dashboard for feature usage analytics and experimentation. When PostHog is enabled with cookies, we will only set those cookies after you accept the in-app preference. When operated in cookieless mode for anonymous visitors, no consent is required.
2.4 Marketing
Feedrevo does not currently use marketing or advertising cookies on feedrevo.com or app.feedrevo.com. If that changes, we will update this Policy and require fresh, opt-in consent in jurisdictions that require it.
3. Current cookie inventory
| Cookie / storage key | Provider | Category | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| __session | Clerk (clerk.feedrevo.com) | Strictly necessary | Keeps you signed in to the dashboard. | Session |
| __client_uat | Clerk | Strictly necessary | Client-side authentication timing. | 1 year |
| __refresh_* | Clerk | Strictly necessary | Session refresh token rotation. | Up to 7 days |
| __client_uat_* | Clerk | Strictly necessary | Multi-session orchestration. | 1 year |
| plausible_ignore (localStorage) | Plausible / self | Strictly necessary | Excludes internal team and dev sessions from analytics. | Persistent until cleared |
| ph_* (when product analytics opt-in) | PostHog | Analytics (opt-in) | Feature usage, funnel, retention analysis inside dashboard. | Up to 12 months |
| cookie_consent (planned) | Self | Strictly necessary | Records your cookie banner choice. | 12 months |
We review this inventory at least annually. The list reflects cookies and similar technologies actually present in the Service at the date above. Add-ons, embedded video providers, or third-party widgets you trigger inside your Pages may set their own cookies; those are governed by their providers’ policies.
4. Third-party services that may set cookies
- Clerk (authentication). See the Clerk Privacy Policy.
- PostHog (optional product analytics). See PostHog Privacy.
- Plausible (cookieless web analytics). See Plausible Privacy.
5. How to manage cookies
You have several ways to control cookies:
- Banner. When the cookie banner is shown (EU, UK, Switzerland, and other consent-required regions), use the Accept, Reject, or Manage preferences controls. Reject and Accept are equally prominent.
- In-product preferences. Signed-in users can change cookie preferences from Settings → Privacy.
- Browser settings. All major browsers let you block or delete cookies. See: Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge.
- Global Privacy Control. We honour GPC signals as an opt-out of any sale or sharing under the CCPA. When we receive a GPC signal, we display a confirmation in the Service.
- Do Not Track. We do not currently respond to DNT headers, because the standard was never finalised. We do honour GPC, which is the modern equivalent for US privacy laws.
Blocking strictly necessary cookies will break features such as signing in. Blocking analytics has no effect on your ability to use the Service.
6. EU / UK cookie banner
For visitors from the European Union, United Kingdom, Switzerland, and other regions that require informed consent before non-essential cookies are loaded, a cookie banner appears on the first visit. No non-essential cookies are loaded before consent is given. The banner offers Accept, Reject, and Manage preferences, equally prominent and pre-tick free. Your choice is stored for 12 months in a cookie_consent cookie; you can change it any time from the footer link.
7. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date above reflects the latest revision. Material changes will be notified in-product and via the banner for consent regions.
